Dudes, am I doing it right?

Alright, so I'm 13, and today was my first time shaving (with the cream). First, I squished some out and rubbed it in my hands till it turned white. Then a I rubbed on the lower half of my face. I applied the razor, and washed it off every few seconds and repeated. Did I do it right? Any tips?
