Has anyone hiked the "Elk River Trail" by the Elk City Lake in KS?

me and three friends are going to hike the 15 mile hike, the elk river trail by elk city lake ks. i was wanting someone who hs already done it to inform me about some of it. how long will it take amateur hikers to hike it. what are some dangers we need to be aware of. anything that would be a good idea to have, and how close is it to a water source. anything you feel i would want to know feel free to tell me i just want some ideas on what to expect and or bring ect.
