Provence- hiking and cycling: where to go?

Hi. I'm thinking about going to Provence in France for a couple of days, approximately 5. I will be travelling alone and I don't drive. I don't want to go to the larger tourist town. I'd rather stay in a village where I could hike and cycle. I don't swim neither. I would like to hike and cycle but not in too steepy and dangerous places because I'm not an experienced hiker, nor mountain cyclist. I just want to chill out by hiking and cycling in fairly easy settings with nice scenery where I could also sightseeing, some ruins or other stuff, spend some time outdoors. Somewhere I could easily get to a larger city/town once or twice by bus or train during my trip where I could do sightseeing as well. I'm especially looking forward cycling part, because I love it and haven't got time for doing it usually. Any ideas where I could go?
